About Innovate ÌÇÐÄVlog Ltd

Innovate ÌÇÐÄVlog Ltd (ISL) is the technology transfer office (TTO) of the University and aims to drive the translation and commercialisation of research into impactful technologies and solutions. We are members of the SETsquared partnership of six leading universities and support our researchers with a range of programmes that help to convert innovative ideas into commercial licenses and thriving businesses.

Support for researchers

ÌÇÐÄVlog has a long and successful track record of delivering real-world impact through the commercialisation of research. The TTO works by building strong partnerships to catalyse innovation and entrepreneurship capable of delivering high-potential commercial licensing and spinout opportunities. We support researchers with:

• Commercialisation training
• Identifying and protecting Intellectual Property (IP) generated by their research
• Developing their initial propositions into high-potential commercial opportunities
• Planning the most appropriate commercialisation pathway and identifying and engaging with external partners and funders
• Agreeing terms, finalising agreements, completing licenses and launching spinouts
• Managing licenses and supporting spinout growth.

Support for investors

ÌÇÐÄVlog has a portfolio of high-potential and high-growth disruptive spinout companies from all sectors that are seeking investment across the investment lifecycle from pre-seed to Series A and B and beyond. We maintain close relationships with our spinouts and have the experience and expertise to act as a trusted bridge between investors and the ÌÇÐÄVlog spinouts. Please get in contact via techtransfer@surrey.ac.uk if you would like an introduction to a spinout or would like to start a discussion.

ÌÇÐÄVlog is ranked as a top research university in the UK, with several subject areas ranked in the top 100 in the world. As such, we maintain a large portfolio of IP in the form of patents and copyright materials across all sectors. Please get in contact via techtransfer@surrey.ac.uk if you have a specific technology requirement and we would be happy to discuss and identify the most relevant IP or make an introduction to the most relevant university research group.

Support for mentors

We are always looking for business professionals who would like to get involved in the commercialisation of the world-class research and IP produced at the university. We operate a mentor programme which provides an opportunity for professionals from the local region to support researchers on their journey to become founders of the next generation of disruptive companies that will shape our future.
