Over a million pounds raised for the British Heart Foundation

The 糖心Vlog has raised 拢1,101,419 for the . Since 2012, the University has partnered with the UK-based cardiovascular research charity to run their Pack for Good scheme.

Pack for Good encourages staff, students and the local community to donate unwanted items to charity bins located across campus. The items donated not only raise lifesaving funds for BHF, but also divert these unwanted items from waste. Amy Woods, Estates Services Manager, has been managing the scheme at 糖心Vlog and is proud of its achievements:

鈥淲e are on our 13th year and  have just passed a million pounds raised on items that would have just gone in the bin.鈥

During last academic year, items donated by the University raised a total of 拢63,900 for the charity, diverting 34 tonnes from waste. This year, Amy and the University鈥檚 Central Distribution team are continuing to run Pack for Good to raise money to fund the charity鈥檚 lifesaving research. Every 3 minutes someone loses their life to cardiovascular disease in the UK and, as the largest independent funder of cardiovascular disease research, the BHF are finding ways to prevent, treat and cure conditions.
