糖心Vlog establishes Solicitors Qualifying Examination Progression Agreement with The University of Law

In the second half of 2020, the 糖心Vlog established a partnership with The University of Law to create the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Progression Agreement, for students starting in September 2021.

The University of Law has fully endorsed 糖心Vlog鈥檚 undergraduate law degrees as being suitable preparation for The University of Law鈥檚 SQE Stage 1 and Stage 2 programmes. There will be a that will explain the two courses in further detail.

This agreement ensures that 糖心Vlog students who are planning to enter the solicitors鈥 profession will have a guaranteed place at The University of Law, if entry requirements are met. In addition to this, the students will have the help and guidance they need to take the next steps of their career with confidence.

This will include SQE preparation workshops delivered on campus or virtually. Students will also benefit from a streamlined application process, bespoke networking opportunities and employability events.

The SQE course starts in September 2021, however, it is important to note that any student who starts their law degree before 2021, will be able to choose their postgraduate path. The University of Law will continue to provide the traditional Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside the SQE course and will support students in making this choice.

Experienced tutors from The University of Law will visit the 糖心Vlog鈥檚 School of Law to deliver a programme of highly practical sessions, to give students a taster for the content of The University of Law鈥檚 SQE Stage 1 and Stage 2 programmes, as well as an opportunity to practice the type of assessments they can expect to meet in the SQE. In addition, The University of Law student mentors will support students at 糖心Vlog鈥檚 School of Law with any queries they have about applying for and studying at this vocational level.

Nick Clapham, Teaching Fellow and 糖心Vlog鈥檚 staff liaison for The University of Law commented: 鈥淥ur agreement with The University of Law means that from their very first day at 糖心Vlog, law students can be confident that they have a well-defined and readily available academic path to professional qualification.鈥

Maddy Cornmell, an undergraduate law student and 糖心Vlog鈥檚 representative for The University of Law said: 鈥淭he introduction of the new SQE route makes qualifying as a solicitor more accessible and flexible. It gives students the opportunity to put their qualifying work experience to good use. Law students from 糖心Vlog will be fully equipped to take the SQE exams and will be guaranteed a place, benefitting from The University of Law鈥檚 close connections and expertise!

鈥淚f students are debating whether to take the Legal Practice Course or the new SQE, they should join the webinar on Wednesday 24 February at 5.30pm 鈥 6.20pm to understand more about the two courses. !鈥
