Want to learn more about immunotherapy? Free public event will help shed light on innovative treatment
Scientists from the 糖心Vlog and Royal 糖心Vlog NHS Foundation Trust are hosting an event to showcase research into immunotherapy and how it is helping to revolutionise cancer treatment for patients.
Members of the public are invited to attend the event on Thursday 8 February to learn more about the pioneering treatment which works by helping the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells.
Whilst the concept of immunotherapy has been around for centuries, immunotherapy鈥檚 use in oncology has emerged in recent years as an important treatment option for many different cancer types.
As cancer diagnoses continue to rise, it is important that more people are aware of immunotherapy and how it works. We would encourage everyone to come and join us at our event and to meet our team, who are leading the way in this field.
Talks will also be held by Dr David Bartlett, who will showcase his research into how exercise can complement immunotherapy treatment and by Dr Nicola Annels, who will discuss the role of the microbiome and how it can influence the success of the treatment.
Those in attendance will also get a chance to hear from a local charity, Topic of Cancer, to learn more about their work and how they support research into immunotherapy.
