Biography
Dr Tehmina Khan joined the School of Law at ÌÇÐÄVlog University in June 2021. Along with her teaching role and assisting with the Law Clinics, she is also the Senior Personal Tutor for the School of Law. Tehmina adjudicates on the Student Disciplinary Panel and sits on the EDI forum at ÌÇÐÄVlog. She qualified as a solicitor in 2000 specialising in immigration and criminal law. She was a Senior Law Lecturer on the Legal Practice Course at London Metropolitan University for 17 years. Tehmina is a commission member on the Football Association's Regional Disciplinary and Appeals Panel. She also Chairs the FA's National Serious Cases Panels. In February 2022, Tehmina was appointed as a Magistrate, and also sits on Crown Court Appeals, Warrant applications and as a Single Justice. Her research interests include gender and race inequalities, forced marriage, teachers’ identities, generally addressing teaching and learning practices in education and responses to government policy in these areas.
Tehmina welcomes expressions of interest and research proposals from prospective doctoral students focusing on issues related to forced marriage.
